MAMA KASH

I just knew everyone was going to have something to say about my old ass being pregnant, but I surely didn’t expect them not to say anything at all. I didn’t know what was up with Ice’s ass. I at least expected him to talk shit about me being too old, but he sat there with a stone face and I made a mental note to talk with him after everyone got over our announcements. Derrick cleared his throat and I took a deep breath, hoping Conic would be happy about it.

“Well, I wanted the family to know that I have purchased a house out in Orlando Florida, and I was planning on moving Kash and I out there next month,” he told the family with the biggest smile on his face as he pulled me closer to him and planted a kiss on my lips.

“Wait a minute Ma; this is a lot of shit to process, and my head so gone off the fact that you pregnant that I’m not even thinking about the move, but I’m cool with that because you’ll be closer to us. But Ma, ain’t that risky with you being old and shit?” Conni asked, and I wanted to slap the shit out of him. He had a whole lot of nerve calling me too old to raise a baby at my age when I’m doing a damn good job as a granny.

“Conni, don’t make me slap you; now it’s obvious I can still have children, and like I said it took me by surprise as well, but what can I do about it? I guess everything happens for a reason,” I told Conni. Ice cleared his throat before Conni could respond, and said he had an announcement of his own. I was hoping it was going to explain his dry ass attitude. I noticed Ice never told me congrats, like most of the family had already done, so I sat down in my chair and got comfortable. If he was mad about my move, Ice would have to get over it—or move out to Florida himself.

“Well Kash, you mention that everything happens for a reason and you couldn’t be more right, so what I want to know is…what is the reason that Derrick here hasn’t revealed his true identity?” Ice asked me as he kept his eyes on Derrick. Now I was confused, because as far as I knew, Derrick was a businessman that traveled a lot, but his absence never was a factor for us.

“Wait, what the fuck you mean true identity? Derrick, what is he talking about?” I asked him because I noticed the blank look on Derrick’s face, which was a dead giveaway that Ice was on to his ass. This muthafucka better not have a family on the side, and that’s why his ass was always gone. Hell, I didn’t complain about his business trips because I was used to being by myself anyways, so I was just back in my comfort zone while he would be away.
